Vigi & Zero
Vigi is one of the rising stars of the current UK underground scene and has been responsible for some serious bassquake action in his time.
Resident at Subsonic and Motion, his DJ sets are packed full of explosive, driving energy that brings thunder to the dancefloor without ever getting dark or scary.
Playing a mixture of breaks and house, he refuses to be pigeonholed, and prefers to fuse together elements from diverse scenes to create new and exciting music for the dancefloor.
His seminal track 'Freak Frequency' brought together the realms of house, techno and drum n bass all in to one tune and pushed the boundaries of what was 'allowed' on the dancefloor way beyond anything seen up to that point.
Since then Vigi has gone from strength to strength, creating tunes such as ‘Pro-Teen’ on Akademia records, Subsonic's ‘Brand Nu Day’ on Streetwise Records and with new partner in crime ZERO, ‘Ultra-funk’ and ‘Others’ for the mighty TCR label.
As busy behind the scenes as he is on the decks, Vigi has also taken on the role of A R for new UK breaks label Streetwise Records, where he plans to create an opening for fresh, exciting projects aimed squarely at the dancefloor.
He is currently running a community project called "Sound Base", that aims to give youths and young offenders a sound base in music production.
With musical energy oozing from every pore of his body, and fresh gems being cut and crafted constantly for both TCR and Streetwise records, the future for Vigi looks both ultra bright and ultra funky.
Zero has been dj'ing breaks since he got a copy of depth charge 'bounty killer' in '94, in amongst, jazz, funk and hip-hop.
Currently operates in Cambridge, uk, running a sound system:
http://www.badsneakers.com and making music, in various collaborations
and on his own. His recent 'Emit/Collect' track on Streetwise was remixed by Rennie Pilgrem and given huge props and support across the board.
